At Illinois Foot & Ankle Clinic, we understand that problems affecting the feet can be debilitating. Dr. Yanovskiy has more than a decade of experience as a general podiatrist and surgeon, participates frequently in continuing education, and is dedicated to eliminating your foot or ankle pain. Our office consistently offers the latest proven advances in podiatric surgeries.
What are the most common surgeries you perform?
I see many bunions, which are boney bumps on the side of the foot. They can be very painful and cause the joint at the base of your big toe to bulge. After diagnosis, we provide a range of surgical and non-surgical treatment options. Non-surgical bunion treatment includes rest, icing, alteration of footwear (avoidance of pointed shoes, tight-fitting shoes, and high heels), padding and taping, orthotic foot supports, and medications. If pain persists, I suggest a foot care consultation to discuss surgery options.
I also see many hammertoe cases, or toes that are permanently bent downward, often as a result of poorly fitted shoes. Similarly, there are many conservative treatments available, and I will only recommend surgery when necessary.
If you're experiencing foot or ankle pain or deformity that requires surgical intervention, our office is highly trained in accurate diagnosis and successful treatment of a wide variety of issues. We'll walk you through every step of the way to get you back on your feet as soon as possible.
Do you treat fractures?
Illinois Foot & Ankle Clinic treats a variety of stress fractures, most commonly on the heel (calcaneus bone); the smaller outer bone of the lower leg and ankle (the fibula); the small bone in the ankle joint (the talus); and the bone on the top of the middle of the foot (navicular). I also often see stress fractures on the small bones on the top of the foot (the metatarsal bones) that lead to the toe bones.
Our clinic is well equipped to deal with all fractures and offer a variety of treatments. We'll tailor a treatment plan to your unique case.
What does recovery typically entail and what services do you provide?
After many of the procedures and surgeries offered at the Illinois Foot & Ankle Clinic—such as hammertoe and other soft tissue surgeries that provide mobility with the help of a special shoe, or boot—our patients walk the same day. We also offer implant insertions that allow patients to have same-day mobility. Recuperation depends on the type of surgery and current health of the patient.
If your foot or ankle requires surgical treatment, it is my priority that you get back to walking as quickly, safely, and comfortably as possible. I will walk you through every step of recovery to make it as easy as possible.
